Hero's aren't born. They're BUILT! Genre: Action / Adventure / Comedy Opinions: I wasn't much of an Iron Man follower when I was a kid. Ironman was much bigger decades before I even decided I liked comics. But I am aware of the universe, I definitely know Marvel....almost as much as I know DC Comics. I went into this movie with no expectations and came out a follower. A true believer as it were. Not since Superman (Christopher Reeves) can I honestly say that we have a Marvel property that has the potential of a Hollywood franchise in the making. I never would of picked Downey Jr. for this part and yet he's in top form. I can almost see the 3 picture deal he already had signed before they began filming this movie. You will not be disappointed to say the least. I see a legend in the making here. I know I'm kind of getting ahead of myself here in this day and age of special effects, dvd, behind the scenes....but what I see is a Marvel property that is just as old as Superman. I see a star in the lead who has the clout and the acting chops to meet the challenge (I think he did).....and I see an actor who could use something to revitalize his career. I see Marvel Studios learning from each and every outing to the big screen, and coming out with bigger and better properties to meet the challenge. Here's a studio who isn't taking baby steps anymore....where DC is pretty much back at the drawing board. If there is ever a picture that could immortalize one character/actor for the next 30 years. Ironman is going to be that picture. Robert Downey Jr....beware what you wish for. 5 out of 5 stars. |
