Rhona Mitra: Doomsday

A lethal virus spreads throughout the British isles,infecting millions and killing hundreds of thousands. To contain the threat, acting authorities brutally quarantine the country as it succumbs to fear and chaos. The quarantine is successful. Three decades later, the Reaper virus violently resurfaces in a major city. An elite group of specialists, including Eden Sinclair, is urgently dispatched into the still-quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. Shut off from the rest of the world, the unit must battle through a landscape that has become a waking nightmare.

I am watching this movie for the first time.  I'm not sure what to say.  I guess Hollywood is running short of material when they have to rehash what worked time and time again the first time around.  Don't get me wrong, Doomsday is a modern day version of what a pre Mad Max would be....and all on 30 million to boot.  They didn't pull any punches when it came to this movie.  So when it had a mediocre return compared to Mad Max on its first outing.  You can see that not only does the saying "money doesn't get you everything" ring true.  You realize that try as they might - Hollywood hasn't been able to come up with something that doesn't feel like a carbon copy of something else.  My take on the whole thing, if you saw this movie in the theatre then you might be disappointed.  If you picked it up at Blockbuster on movie night you might be entertained.  Just don't have a big meal prior to watching this.  Not for the queesy.
