I know that the benefits to phpnuke far outweigh what could be "bad" about this software. Can I make a go of it that is good enough to pass the muster? Well here's XooArticles...and the battle continues...
This is more a corporate note than a Cinemafan one. I have been trying to relaunch Cinemafan for a real long time. Now with DoubleOsting taking the helm, Save-On Hosting supplying the server, and me left to my own devices trying to figure out the best way to get this site back online...I'm drawn back to the option of using phpnuke.
Should one use PHPnuke if you aren't a programmer, can't really customize anything, and the only thing you really can do is work within the parameters of the software to provide the content your end users are looking for? In this day and age end users are looking for more than just content. They want interaction...but I'm looking for functionality to start.
Interaction can always come later. That saying, if you build it they will come! Well if you have just bought the building, you have power to light the building...heat the building, and water. Does it really matter that the suites are unfurnished? Or that there are cracks in the plaster?
I think it's more about the backbone, and the content...everything else will come in time. That said, The Cinemafan is kind of the testing ground to use php nuke and see how it measure up before launching it on some other DoubleOsting platforms. It has been at least a week and even though phpnuke is still active at phpnuke.cinemafan.org I have been itching to try out xooarticles. Yes this is a bigger investment, but in the long run it is more stylized and easier on the eye. The real test will be in if they do actually come...

It has been well over a week and I like how things are turning out here. This site is entirely indexable so if you are looking for a movie you should be able to find it.
